Homemade Hamburger

INGREDIENTS
- 400 g ground beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 clove chopped garlic
- Chopped or dried herbs (parsley, chives, thyme, rosemary, etc.)
- 1 beaten egg
- Spices (paprika, cilantro, etc.)
- 100 g cheese: cheddar, emmental or comté
- 4 buns

UTENSILS
- A large bowl
- Cutting boards
- Knives
- A pan • A fork
For a vegetarian version:
- Replace meat with fried egg
- Make a vegetarian steak by mixing 100 g of cooked lentils, red beans or chickpeas, 40 g of flour, 1 carrot and 1 onion, chopped as finely as possible
According to your tastes, add toppings!
- Tomatoes, salad
- Pickles
- Caramelized onions, mushrooms
METHOD
- Mince the onion, finely chop the garlic and chives.
- In a bowl, add ground meat, spices, garlic, onion, chives, egg. Mix by hand or with a fork (gently until all the ingredients are well mixed, but not too long to avoid damaging the meat). Separates the whole preparation into four balls of the same size and forms four steaks.
- Put a pan to heat, when it is hot and after putting a drizzle of oil in it, cook your steaks for about 3 minutes on each side until they are golden. When you cook the second side, you can place your cheese on the steak to melt.
- Grill the buns (breads) in the pan or in the oven, spread a little bit of sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, Algerian sauce) and garnish according to your tastes and what you have available!
