A diet high in UPF during pregnancy can lead to children facing weight issues later in life.

A joint study by Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital revealed that the children of mothers who consume large amounts of highly processed foods during pregnancy are more likely to face obesity or weight issues.
Using data correlated for almost 20K children and 15K mothers tracked during the study, the researchers were able to identify that highly processed foods were the main cause for increased risk, though they also looked at other factors including BMI, physical activity and education.
